Unfortunately the burning of coal causes an extreme production of ash. One often has to deal with a mixture of ash, water and mud that has to be dewatered and separated. Thick bed ash blocks aggravate this and make high demands on an individually adaptable and expandable system of ash and bed ash dewatering. The diminution of residual moisture to an absolute minimum is given special emphasis, and its limit are dependent on the respective amount of fine grain.
